Ali Hassan visits district Jail Ghotki, reaffirms commitment to prison reforms

In line with the vision of Pakistan Peoples Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari, Sindh Provincial Minister for Works & Services and Prisons, Ali Hassan Zardari, paid a surprise visit to District Jail Ghotki.
During his visit, the Minister personally interacted with inmates, addressing key concerns related to food quality, healthcare services, and the behavior of jail staff. He reiterated the party’s commitment to transforming prisons into rehabilitation centers, stating, “Under the guidance of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari and President Asif Ali Zardari, we are committed to turning prisons into institutions of reform and rehabilitation.”
Minister Ali Hassan Zardari emphasized that across Sindh, efforts are underway to ensure inmates are treated with dignity and are provided all rights and facilities under the law. He further stated that such visits would continue regularly as part of a broader initiative to enhance prison conditions throughout the province.
In response to complaints regarding frequent power outages, the Minister announced that he would personally finance the installation of a solar power system at the jail, ensuring uninterrupted electricity for inmates and staff.
He also noted ongoing improvements in hygiene and cleanliness, stressing the importance of maintaining a humane and respectful environment within the prison system.
“We will continue to serve the people in accordance with our leadership’s vision and the PPP manifesto,” he concluded.
