Orphan and destitute children from the Aghosh Education Unit were given a warm welcome during their educational visit to the Traffic Headquarters in Gulbahar. The visit was aimed at creating awareness about traffic rules and road safety among young students.
Chief Traffic Officer Haroon Rashid Khan received the children upon their arrival. Zahoor Khan from the Aghosh Foundation also accompanied the group.
During the visit, Chief Traffic Officer Haroon Rashid briefed the children on essential traffic rules and emphasized the importance of using zebra crossings while crossing roads. He also highlighted the significance of wearing seat belts while traveling in a car and helmets when riding motorcycles, noting that such safety measures can significantly reduce the risk of serious injuries during accidents.
The children were given a tour of various sections of the Traffic Headquarters, including the camera control room, Driving License (DL) van, FM Radio 88.6 studio, DL branch, and other departments. Traffic officials provided informative briefings at each stop to help the students understand the working and role of the City Traffic Police.
Speaking on the occasion, Haroon Rashid Khan stated that the City Traffic Police Peshawar regularly conducts awareness sessions in schools, colleges, and universities to educate the public about traffic rules. He added that the department is utilizing all available resources—including FM Radio 88.6 and social media platforms—to ensure smooth traffic flow and the implementation of road safety regulations across the city.
To mark the occasion, the City Traffic Police distributed gifts among the visiting children, including stationery, coloring materials, and other items. Informational pamphlets and song booklets promoting traffic safety were also presented to the children as part of the awareness initiative.
