Tariq Sadozai calls for optimizing output at Pehur Power Plant

PESHAWAR: Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Energy, Engineer Tariq Sadozai paid a surprise visit to the 18 MW Pehur Hydro Power station located in Swabi district, where he reviewed the plant’s production units and operations. According to an official handout, during the visit, relevant officials provided him with a detailed briefing on the power station’s functioning and performance. He was informed that the plant, completed in 2009, supplies electricity at affordable rates to five industrial units through the wheeling model. This initiative is generating millions of rupees revenue for the province annually. Addressing concerns raised during the visit, Tariq Sadozai assured that he would take up the issue of deductions by PESCO under line losses with the relevant authorities. He emphasized the need to optimize production in line with the plant’s installed capacity to maximize revenue and better serve the public interest. He praised the efforts of the PEDO team operating the plant and expressed confidence in their commitment. SACM reiterated the provincial government’s determination to strengthen the local economy and reduce load shedding by making the best possible use of available energy resources. DLP Report
