Commissioner Peshawar Division and Chairman Board of Intermediate and Secondary Education (BISE) Peshawar, Riaz Khan Mehsud, conducted surprise visits to various examination centers on the first day of the intermediate examinations to review facilities, ensure transparency, and enforce anti-cheating measures.
Accompanied by Secretary BISE Peshawar Mehdi Jan and Controller of Examinations Inamullah, the Commissioner visited multiple centers across the provincial capital.
During the visits, he interacted with students to assess the availability of facilities and the overall examination environment. He directed the examination staff and college administrations to maintain a peaceful atmosphere and strictly curb any attempts at cheating.
In light of observed deficiencies, Commissioner Mehsud ordered strict disciplinary action against several superintendents and examination staff for failing to provide adequate facilities, not maintaining transparency, and negligence in preventing cheating.
Speaking to the media, Riaz Khan Mehsud reaffirmed the Board’s commitment to ensuring fair and transparent examinations, emphasizing that, as with the matriculation exams, all available resources would be utilized to support students and uphold examination standards.
He added that surprise inspections would continue throughout the exam period and warned of stern action in case of any negligence.
As per details, the Peshawar Education Board has established 420 examination centers across six districts—Peshawar, Charsadda, Upper Chitral, Lower Chitral, Mohmand, and Khyber—for approximately 130,000 students. A total of 4,500 examination staff have been deployed to manage the process.
