Youm-e-Takbeer was commemorated in Thatta with immense patriotic zeal, as citizens, civil society members, and local officials gathered to honor the historic moment when Pakistan emerged as a nuclear power on May 28, 1998.
To mark this significant day, a series of events were organized across the district. The District Educational Technology Resource Center (DETRC) spearheaded a grand rally in Makli, while the Institute of Educational Technology (IET) hosted a special ceremony at the Thatta Press Club. These events aimed to instill national pride and underscore the strategic importance of Pakistan’s nuclear capability.
The rally in Makli drew a large and enthusiastic crowd, including students, teachers, and community members. Waving national flags and chanting patriotic slogans like “Pakistan Zindabad” and “Long Live Pakistan Army,” participants marched through the streets in a powerful show of unity and national pride. Leading the rally were prominent education and district officials including Assistant Director Syed Fida Hussain Shah, Data Processing Officer Shahnawaz Jat, District Education Officer (Sports) Manzoor Ali Aqili, Senior Headmaster Basharat Ilyas Jokhio, and Administrator Zainab Shah.
Meanwhile, the Thatta Press Club became the center of commemoration, where distinguished speakers, including Dr. Abdullah Rajper, President of the Thatta Bar Council, Altaf Tunio, and Shoakat, delivered impassioned addresses. They highlighted the historical significance of Youm-e-Takbeer and the message it conveyed to the world — that Pakistan’s defense is strong and unshakable. The speakers paid glowing tributes to the key figures who played instrumental roles in Pakistan’s nuclear journey. “We salute our national heroes — Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, Shaheed Zulfikar Ali Bhutto, Mohtarma Benazir Bhutto, and Mian Nawaz Sharif — for their visionary leadership and contributions in making Pakistan a nuclear state,” remarked one of the speakers.
Attendees at both events expressed unwavering solidarity with the Pakistan Armed Forces and pledged to uphold the legacy of Youm-e-Takbeer. They affirmed that the day stands as a symbol of national sovereignty, strength, and unity — a milestone that continues to inspire generations. The vibrant observance of Youm-e-Takbeer in Thatta reflected the enduring spirit of patriotism and the collective pride of the Pakistani people in their nation’s defense achievements.
