Uninterrupted power supply to be ensured during Moharram: Naeem Jan

Islamabad: On the directions of Federal Minister for Energy Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari, IESCO Chief Executive Muhammad Naeem Jan issued necessary instructions to all operations, construction and other formations through a Zoom meeting to ensure uninterrupted power supply during Moharram-ul-Haram, especially on the 9th and 10th of Moharram. He said that all overloaded and under-performing transformers and other equipment should be replaced or upgraded immediately before the start of Moharram-ul-Haram. The hanging power lines coming in the way of mourning processions should be secured. Field formations should stay in touch with the district administration and the organizers of mourning processions and get complete information about the routes of the mourning processions and form a complete roadmap. Further, to ensure electricity supply during Moharram, and especially during the 9th and 10th of Moharram, and to enable prompt redressal of complaints, leaves of all officers and staff should be cancelled, and the staff of complaint offices across the region should be kept on high alert, and control rooms should be formed at the level of sub-divisions, divisions, circles and IESCOs, any negligency will not be tolerated at any cost.
