The Khyber Pakhtunkhwa ITF Taekwondo Association is all set to organize its annual Belt Promotion Test on July 4 and 5 at Hayatabad Sports Complex, Peshawar. All necessary preparations for the prestigious two-day event have been finalized.
The event will witness participation from male and female athletes representing various districts of the province. This technical and ceremonious activity holds great significance in the ITF training framework and aims to assess and promote the skill levels of participating practitioners.
Speaking to the media, Naveed Habibi Secretary of KP ITF Taekwondo Association and a qualified coach stated that under the umbrella of the International Taekwondo Federation (ITF) and the supervision of the Pakistan ITF Federation, significant progress has been made in promoting the sport within the province.
“We have seen the emergence of highly talented athletes across various age groups who are receiving intensive training with a focus on technical improvement and skill development,” he said.
He added that the Belt Promotion Test serves as an important and traditional step in the ITF curriculum, where athletes are evaluated and promoted to the next belt level based on their performance and progression.
The opening ceremony will be graced by Director General of Local Government Junaid Khan as the chief guest, while Abid Afridi will also be present on the occasion.
The closing ceremony will be attended by President of the Pakistan ITF Federation, Rana Sadaqat Ali, accompanied by a Korean Taekwondo Master, who will distribute certificates and belts to the successful candidates.
Naveed Habibi emphasized that this platform not only provides athletes with practical exposure but also plays a key role in the promotion of Taekwondo. “This is a golden opportunity for dedicated and well-trained athletes to showcase their abilities and take steps towards national and international recognition,” he noted.
He further appealed to parents, sports enthusiasts, and the broader sports community to participate actively in the event. “Such programs not only build physical strength among the youth but also nurture discipline, confidence, and a positive attitude,” he added.
