The European Union (EU), through Agence Française de Développement (AFD) as Lead Partner and in collaboration with the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA), marked the successful completion of the EU Grant component under the Warsak 2nd Rehabilitation Project.
A closing ceremony was held in Aka Khel village, organized with the support of Mr. Arbab Mansoor Alam, former Nazim of Aka Khel.
The event highlighted the project’s dual objective: modernizing critical energy infrastructure while uplifting local communities through sustainable development interventions.
According to a statement issued here, the Warsak Rehabilitation Project aimed not only to upgrade the aging Warsak Hydropower Station but also to implement a comprehensive Community Development Program (CDP) to improve the quality of life in surrounding areas.
These initiatives have significantly enhanced public services and created new economic opportunities for residents of the Warsak region.
Local representatives noted that improved access to clean water, quality education, and reliable infrastructure has led to meaningful livelihood empowerment and sustainable community development.
The event was organized by the WAPDA Warsak team, led by Chief Engineer and Project Director Mr. Hameed Ullah Khan, Project Engineer Mr. Muhammad Idrees, and Executive Engineer (Civil) Mr. Shahid Nazir.
