Illegal appointments, misuse of powers case
ISLAMABAD: FIA has presented Scientist Dr Ghulam Ali chairman Pakistan Agriculture Research Council (PARC) in the court in illegal appointments and misuse of powers case. Dr Ghulam Ali was presented in the court of judicial magistrate Ahmad Shahzad Gondal in district and sessions court Islamabad. The court handed over the accused persons to FIA on 3 days physical remand. FIA had requested the court for granting 7-day physical remand of the accused. Prosecutor said Chairman PARC has been arrested in the case of illegal appointments and misuse of powers. FIA has arrested director establishment Ikhlaq Malik too allegedly involved in this case. Chairman PARC has appointed 332 persons against 164 sanctioned posts illegally. Prosecutor further told the court FIA has registered case against 19 officers including chairman PARC Dr Ghulam Muhammad Ali . They are charged with receiving bribery in connection with illegal appointment. Chairman PARC took the plea all the vacancies were advertised. Committees were formed for selection of candidates. Upon it judge Ahmad Shahzad said investigations have to be made yet in this matter Things will come to light.
It is pertinent to mention here Public Accounts Committee had referred matter of PARC to FIA.
