Under the able leadership of Secretary Defence Lt. General (R) Muhammad Ali HI (M), and vision of DG ML&C Maj. General Irfan Ahmad Malik HI (M), the Military Lands & Cantonments Department (MLCG) has introduced a landmark Health Policy 2025, a forward-looking initiative that promises to revolutionize healthcare services provided by the 44 Cantonment Boards across Pakistan.
The dedicated efforts of Director Cantonment Administration Rana Kalil, this comprehensive and meticulously prepared policy document sets a new benchmark in healthcare delivery at the grassroots level. It is designed to generate motivation among medical staff through the long-awaited concept of administrative empowerment, which had previously been lacking in the system. The implementation of this policy in its true spirit will ensure standardized medical facilities for all residents of Cantonment areas nationwide.
The Health Policy 2025 focuses on three pivotal dimensions: Upgrading Infrastructure to modern standards , Integrating Advanced Healthcare Technologies to improve diagnostics and treatment , Recruitment and Training of Proficient Healthcare Personnel to strengthen institutional capacity. By investing in these vital areas, the department aims to enhance the efficiency, effectiveness, and responsiveness of healthcare services, thereby elevating the standards of care available to Cantonment residents.
The policy also emphasizes the paramount importance of community involvement and empowerment, recognizing that sustainable healthcare reform requires active resident participation. Robust partnerships with local communities are encouraged to foster mutual trust and to ensure that services are tailored to meet the genuine healthcare needs of the population. The Health Policy 2025 is more than just an administrative reform — it is a transformative step toward ensuring equitable, reliable, and modern healthcare facilities.
It reflects the MLCG’s unwavering commitment to excellence in public service and to nurturing healthier, more empowered Cantonment communities.
