MALAKAND: A high-level meeting was held at the District Secretariat Batkhela on Friday to review and strengthen precautionary measures against the possible spread of the dengue virus. The meeting, chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner General Muhammad Hamid, was attended by Assistant Commissioners of Batkhela and Dargai, the District Health Officer, and officials from the Education, Local Government, TMA, Agriculture, and other relevant departments. Focal Person for Dengue Prevention, Dr. Sagheer Al-Maani, provided a comprehensive briefing on the ongoing efforts, including larval control measures and public awareness campaigns. The ADC directed all departments to intensify preventive actions, ensure cleanliness, fix water leakages, cover water storage points in institutions, and enhance community awareness—particularly through schools and mosques.
