ISLAMABAD: Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) Police’s Shahzad Town police team arrested a key member of an active and organized theft gang during a successful operation, recovering stolen property worth hundreds of thousands of rupees. An official told media on Tuesday that the arrested suspect, Osama Liaqat, was wanted in multiple house-theft and snatching incidents in Shahzad Town and adjoining areas. During the operation, police recovered five expensive laptops and valuable mobile phones from his possession. A case has been registered against the accused, while further arrests are expected as part of the ongoing investigation into the gang’s activities. DIG Muhammad Jawad Tariq directed police teams to ensure completion of all legal requirements so that the accused receives due punishment through solid prosecution. DNA
