COMSATS University Islamabad (CUI) concluded its two-day Leadership Retreat 2025 at the Islamabad Campus bringing together university leadership, Deans, and faculty to align undergraduate education with the 6-C Framework for 2030 Student Readiness.
According to Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, Rector CUI, the 6C framework is part of his vision for CUI to make students of all disciplines ready for industry 5.0 by incorporating Creativity, Coding Skills, Cyber Security knowledge, Cloud and Co-intelligence i.e. awareness of the use of the ethical use of A.I in future job roles. These essential elements constitute a tool kit that will enable better career prospects for CUI students in the future.
The retreat opened with a keynote address by Prof. Dr. Sajjad A. Madani, CUI, Controller of Examinations and Prof. Dr. Raheel Qamar, Rector CUI, who emphasized the need for rapid and uniform implementation of the 6-C framework across all undergraduate programs to prepare graduates for future challenges.
The Registrar CUI, Dr. Fahim A. Qureshi outlined key academic milestones, including a 60-day deadline for Scheme of Studies revisions, Course Learning Outcomes (CLO)– Program Learning Outcomes (PLO) alignment, and statutory processing through Boards of Studies, Boards of Faculties, and the Academic Council in line with HEC policy.
Faculty members participated in focused breakout sessions to review curricula, map the 6-Cs, identify gaps, and propose new modules aligned with Outcome-Based Education. Discussions also covered AI literacy, cybersecurity basics, cloud certification pathways, and cross-campus coordination.
On the 2nd Day of the Conference, the Faculty Deans presented faculty-level implementation plans and timelines. Prof. Dr. Sohail Asghar, Incharge Islamabad Campus, briefed participants on procedural and academic matters.
