Toshakhana-2 case

PTI founder and Bushra Bibi have been awarded sentence of 17 years each in Toshakhana-2 case.
PTI founder Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi have been awarded punishment of 10 years each in Toshakhana-2 case while 7 years each sentence has been awarded under PC section 409.
Overall 17 years sentence has been awarded each to both of them. Penalty of Rs 16425650 has also been awarded to each. In the event of failure to pay the fine, both will have to undergo sentence of 6 months each.
Special judge Central Arjumand Shah announced the decision in Adiala jail in the presence of Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi.
The judgment read that the court, while passing the sentences, considered Imran’s old age and the fact that Bushra Bibi is a woman.
“Taking these factors into account, a lenient approach was adopted in awarding lesser punishment. Additionally, the benefit of Section 382-B of the CrPC has been extended to both convicts,” the judgment read.

NAB had shown arrested Imran Khan and Bushra Bibi on July 13, 2024 in Tosha Khana -2 case in Adiala jail.
PTI founder and Bushra Bibi remained in the custody of NAB for 37 days in Adiala jail .
NAB had filed Toshakhana-2 case reference in Accountability Court on August 20 following the completion of investigation.
The key witnesses were former military secretary Brig (Retd) Muhammad Ahmad, private appraiser Sohaib Abbasi and Inam Ullah former principal secretary to PTI founder.
FIA prosecution team abandoned 4 witnesses.
It is alleged that Khan and Bushra Bibi retained gifted itemsóincluding earrings, a necklace, two rings, and watchesóafter having their values deliberately assessed at lower rates. NAB conducted an inquiry into four gifts: diamond earrings, a necklace, a ring, and a bracelet. The estimated value of two of these gifts was placed at 380,000 euros, which was slightly over 71 million Pakistani rupees.
The valuation was calculated according to 2021 market rates. These jewelry items were sold by the Bulgari company to the Subhan company. The accused reportedly had two items valued at Rs5.8 million and deposited Rs2.9 million to acquire them. The two items included a bracelet and a ring. The reference in the case was filed on January 7, 2024.
The court remarked prosecution has succeeded in proving allegations. The offence has been proved against both of them.
