Nurses’ leadership key to improving patient care standards’

LAHORE: Nurses play a pivotal role in instilling hope and providing continuous care to patients, said Principal of Ameer-ud-Din Medical College, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Farooq Afzal. He made the remarks while addressing a Nursing Leadership Workshop organized under the Nursing Faculty Development Program at the College of Nursing, AMC/LGH, on Sunday. Prof. Afzal noted that the nursing profession has rapidly evolved, with nurses now contributing to improved patient care through specialization, research, and leadership. He emphasized that nursing services form a fundamental pillar of healthcare, and, in line with Chief Minister Punjab Maryam Nawaz Sharif’s vision, strengthening nursing leadership and providing world-class training was a top institutional priority. The workshop was attended by Program Director Dr. Saira Zeeshan, Principal College of Nursing Samrah Naz Kanwal, DCNS Fazilat Lal, NS Saima Fatah, Nursing Supervisor Naseem Akhlaq, nursing instructors Shehnaz Dar and Ramzan Bibi, faculty members, nursing officers, and students.
