An accused involved in displaying of weapons on social media was arrested and arms recovered, said police on Friday.
On the directions of senior officers, Peshawar police are continuing a strong crackdown across the district against criminals, display of weapons, aerial firing, and promotion of such crimes on social media, as part of efforts to curb gun culture.
According to the spokesperson of Capital City Police Peshawar, in this regard, SHO Khan Raziq Shaheed Police Station, Riyaz Afridi, during an operation, arrested an accused named Zahid, who was involved in uploading videos of aerial firing on social media.
A pistol was recovered from his possession. A case has been registered against him, and further investigation initiated.
