ICT Dolphin Force steps up crackdown: 39,000 checked in 12 days

ISLAMABAD: Islamabad’s Dolphin Force carried out extensive surveillance and snap-checking operations during the first 12 days of 2026, checking more than 39,000 individuals, 46,000 motorcycles, and 11,000 vehicles across the federal capital. A police spokesperson told media on Thursday that under the supervision of SP Dolphin Owais Ali Khan, smart cars, special nakas and rapid-response patrols were deployed to keep strict vigilance on criminal elements. He said that 25 vehicles and over 30,000 motorcycles were shifted to respective police stations for further verification, while 339 suspicious individuals were taken into custody for interrogation during the crackdown. As part of traffic regulation measures, the Dolphin Force also removed tinted glasses from 1,279 vehicles, ensuring compliance with traffic safety rules. SP Dolphin Owais Ali Khan said that no compromise would be made on the safety of citizens and that strict action against criminal elements will continue.
