ISLAMABAD: Minister of State for Environment Dr. Shezra Mansab Ali Khan Kharal on Wednesday criticized PTI, saying its demand for opposition leaders was fulfilled, but the party remained focused only on securing Imran Khan’s release, urging opposition members to play a responsible role in Parliament. While speaking to PTV News channel, she said that a responsible opposition was the key to a strong democracy, adding that all allied parties truly believed in the democratic process and were committed to strengthening parliamentary traditions. She emphasized that constructive criticism and meaningful participation in Parliament were essential for addressing public issues, urging opposition parties to move beyond personal agendas and contribute positively to democratic stability. She further said that PTI’s politics revolved around one personality, adding that the party wanted Imran Khan to be treated outside the ambit of law, undermining the judiciary and weakening democratic stability, while completely ignoring public issues and governance. Minister concluded by urging all political parties to rise above personal interests, work collectively for the stability of democracy, and ensure that the opposition plays a constructive and responsible role in Parliament to address the real issues facing the nation.
