LAYYAH: In a major operation,the Punjab Food Authority (PFA) and Punjab Police seized 400 kilograms of dead and diseased chicken from local markets in Layyah on Saturday. According to PFA spokesperson,the raid,based on a tip-off,targeted the illegal supply of unhygienic poultry intended for distribution to hotels and food outlets. Two suspects were arrested at the scene but failed to provide any documentation regarding the origin or sale of the poultry. Authorities believe the meat was being sold at discounted rates,posing a significant public health threat. The seized poultry was safely disposed of under official supervision. A case has been registered against the accused,who were currently under investigation. News Agency
