Health minister reviews staff positions, calls for improved coordination at health secretariat

Provincial Minister for Health Khaleeq Ur Rehman on Monday chaired a meeting at the Health Secretariat to review staffing levels, administrative arrangements, and measures to enhance efficiency within the department, a handout said.
The meeting was attended by Secretary Health Shahid Ullah Khan and senior officials of the Health Department, who provided a detailed briefing on the current staffing situation. Officials outlined existing staff strength, vacant positions in various sections, and the need for adjustments to improve coordination among different wings of the department.
Proposals for the rationalization and redistribution of staff were discussed, with officials highlighting areas under workload pressure and sections requiring better alignment of responsibilities to boost administrative performance.
Speaking on the occasion, Minister Khaleeq Ur Rehman stressed the importance of a well-coordinated administrative structure for the smooth functioning of the Health Department.
He directed authorities to ensure merit-based appointments and timely filling of vacant posts to strengthen institutional capacity.
The minister also urged officials to adopt a team-oriented approach and enhance coordination among different sections of the Health Secretariat, ensuring that departmental matters and public health initiatives are processed efficiently and without unnecessary delays.
Secretary Health Shahid Ullah Khan assured the minister that steps would be taken to streamline staff management and improve overall efficiency within the department.
