Police on Monday sealed a factory allegedly involved in the international supply of narcotics and arrested two suspects during an operation in the Pahari Pura area, officials said. During the operation, police recovered more than 8 kilograms of ice, around half a kilogram of chemicals, 200 HTC tablets, a sewing machine, a digital weighing scale and other related items.
The action was carried out as part of an ongoing anti-drug campaign launched on the special instructions of Dr Mian Saeed Ahmed, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Peshawar, and under the supervision of SSP Operations Farhan Khan.
According to police, the operation was conducted within the limits of Pahari Pura police station under the leadership of SP Faqirabad Division Resham Jahangir, along with DSP Faqirabad Circle Ijaz Nabi Khan and SHO Pahari Pura Rafiq Khan.
During the raid in Hamid Colony on Dalazak Road, police sealed a factory allegedly used for the storage and distribution of “ice” and narcotic pills.
Two alleged key members of the network indentified as Imran Khan, and a resident of Karim Pura, and Wajahat and a resident of Chamkani, were arrested.
Police officials said that the suspect, Imran, had set up the factory inside his house where drugs were reportedly concealed and stitched into jackets to avoid detection. The network allegedly smuggled ice and pills to different cities across the country and abroad using this method.
Officials said the arrested suspects had identified other members of the network during initial interrogation, and raids were being conducted to apprehend them.
A case has been registered against the suspects, and investigators expect further disclosures during the course of the investigation.
