Iran has announced intensified missile and drone operations targeting American military facilities in the Middle East, warning civilians in neighboring countries to stay away from installations linked to the United States as the conflict involving Iran, the United States, and Israel continues to escalate.
According to Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), American military facilities in Iraq, Bahrain, and Kuwait have recently come under attack as the conflict entered its 16th day.
An IRGC spokesperson said Iranian drones were actively searching for locations of American forces in the region and would carry out precise strikes once intelligence on targets is obtained.
The statement came as U.S. President Donald Trump acknowledged that Iran’s retaliatory strikes on regional allies hosting American bases had been an unexpected development during the conflict.
Meanwhile, tensions have also raised concerns about global energy markets. Trump claimed that Iran’s Kharg Island — the country’s primary oil export hub — had been heavily damaged and warned of further strikes, raising fears of disruption to global oil supplies.
Earlier, Washington urged countries dependent on oil shipments through the Strait of Hormuz, including China and Japan, to deploy naval forces to protect maritime routes. Iran, however, insisted that the strategic waterway remains open and safe for passage by “friendly” nations.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi urged regional states hosting U.S. bases to expel foreign military forces, warning that their presence invites further conflict rather than ensuring security.
Elsewhere in the region, Israeli forces reportedly struck Hezbollah-linked infrastructure across Lebanon, including sites allegedly used to prepare attacks.
The ongoing conflict has also affected international sporting events. MotoGP announced that the Qatar Grand Prix, originally scheduled for April, has been postponed until November due to security concerns in the region.
