Upgradation work at Badshahi Mosque be completed soon after Eid, Says Dr. Ehsan Bhutta

Secretary Auqaf / Chief Administrator Dr. Ehsan Bhutta has directed that all ongoing development, maintenance, and upgradation works at the historic Badshahi Mosque be completed soon after Eid, ensuring improved facilities for worshippers and visitors.
During his detailed visit to the mosque, Dr. Ehsan Bhutta reviewed the pace and quality of work related to the library, installation of new shoe racks, protection and preservation of chambers, and the installation of safety grills around the Tabarrukat Gallery. He was informed that these measures are part of a broader plan to enhance facilities while preserving the historical and religious sanctity of the mosque. It was further shared that the Tabarrukat Gallery will be shifted in the first week of April as part of the ongoing improvement plan.
The Secretary emphasized that Badshahi Mosque holds immense religious, historical, and cultural significance, and therefore all development activities must be carried out with utmost care, maintaining the original architecture and heritage value. He directed that special attention should be given to cleanliness, arrangements for large gatherings, and smooth entry and exit of devotees, especially in view of the expected rush during Eid.
Officials including WCLA representatives Mubashir and Azeem Dad, Director Projects Auqaf Rafique Noor, Administrator Badshahi Mosque Shahid Warraich, and other concerned officers briefed him on the progress and timelines of the ongoing schemes. It was informed that work on electrical systems, illumination, painting, and furniture is being expedited.
Dr. Ehsan Bhutta further instructed that all works related to lighting, electricity, painting, furniture, and infrastructure improvements should be completed on priority basis soon after Eid.
He also directed that strict monitoring mechanisms be put in place, and any delays or negligence will not be tolerated. He reiterated the government’s commitment to providing the best possible facilities to the visitors of religious sites across Punjab.
