CM aide expresses grief over Mardan mining accident

Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan has expressed grief over the deaths of nine workers in a mining accident in the Rustam area of the district.
In a statement issued here, he extended condolences to the bereaved families, terming the incident an irreparable loss.
He said Rescue 1122 and the district administration launched a timely rescue and relief operation, recovering workers trapped under the debris. Two injured workers were shifted to a hospital, where they are receiving treatment.
Mr Jan said district administration officials supervised the rescue efforts, adding that the operation was still under way to locate a missing worker. He said all available resources were being utilised for the search. He also prayed for the speedy recovery of the injured and expressed solidarity with the affected families, assuring them of all possible support from the provincial government.
