Ehsaas internship programme to equip youth with market-oriented skills: Meena

Provincial Minister for Higher Education Meena Khan Afridi has said the proposed Ehsaas Internship Programme aims to prepare students for the job market by aligning academic learning with practical field requirements.
The remarks were made during a high-level meeting at the Higher Education Department Secretariat, where the minister was given a detailed briefing on the proposed internship programme. According to officials, the programme will offer internship opportunities to BS graduates domiciled in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. The duration of internships will range from a minimum of two months to a maximum of six months.
Selected interns will receive a monthly stipend of Rs25,000, while students with a minimum GPA of 3.0 will be eligible to apply, the meeting was informed.
To ensure effective implementation, coordination offices will be established at universities and degree colleges to provide guidance and facilitation to students throughout the process.
Speaking on the occasion, the minister said the initiative was designed to bridge the gap between academic training and industry demands, enabling graduates to gain hands-on experience.
He added that the chief minister was expected to formally inaugurate the programme soon, expressing hope that it will create improved employment opportunities for the youth across the province.
