ISLAMABAD: Federal budget for the financial year 2026-27 will be presented in the first week of June. As per media reports government has decided to prepare budget in accordance with IMF conditions. There is proposal for providing relief to salaried class. Super tax will be decreased gradually in consultation with IMF. BISP stipend will be increased by Rs 5000 for recipients. Proposal is there to abolish income tax and sales tax exemption to different departments in the budget for fiscal 2026-27. Tax exemption already given to special economic zones will be abolished. There will be ban on selling products in local market which are prepared in export zones. As per loan program , IMF has stressed on making tariff adjustment stringent . BISP quarterly stipend will be increased from Rs 14500 to Rs 19500 . Audit system of FBR will be made robust and central. Ban will stay on establishment of new economic zones in federal budget. Restrictions regarding foreign exchange reserves will be softened in phases in the budget for the year 2026-27. Pakistan Regulatory Registry will be set up till 2027.
