The annual Lapel Pin awards ceremony was held at the Jinnah Auditorium National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST) , to formally acknowledge and celebrate the contributions and accomplishments of both students and faculty members. Pro-Rector Academics Dr Osman Hasan (TI) graced the occasion as the chief guest and delivered an insightful address emphasising the university’s vision of holistic student development.
He said that NUST aims to upskill its students to ensure they are well-prepared for both the professional marketplace and broader societal responsibilities. The university’s vibrant clubs and societies play a pivotal role in cultivating critical thinking, leadership acumen, and the holistic grooming of personality.
He further commended the unwavering dedication of student societies and extended his appreciation to faculty members, office bearers, Principals and Deans, along with the Directorate of Student Affairs, for their persistent efforts in fostering a dynamic campus culture. NUST, while widely recognised for its academic excellence, continues to place equal and deliberate emphasis on co-curricular activities as an integral part of student development.
At present, 52 active clubs and societies operate across a diverse spectrum of disciplines. These include, among others, Bio Reach Society, Archery Club, Fine Arts Club, Stray Animal Club, Bazm-e-Pakistan, and Green Wheels Club. Collectively, these platforms orchestrate a wide array of intellectually and socially enriching activities such as seminars, workshops, charity and cloth donation drives, theatrical productions, cultural festivals, screenings, and science competitions, thereby enriching campus life and fostering a culture of creativity and engagement.
Each club and society was recognised across four distinct award categories.
NUST provides not only the requisite resources but also a dynamic platform where like-minded individuals can converge, channel their creativity, and meaningfully invest their time and energy in pursuits that resonate with their passions. This vibrant ecosystem empowers students to explore their potential, articulate their talents, and contribute to causes that hold personal and societal significance.
