Recent hike in the prices of petroleum products has been challenged in Lahore High Court (LHC).
A miscellaneous petition has been filed by Azhar Siddique advocate chief of Judicial Activism Panel.
The petition said diesel and petrol have become expensive in Pakistan more than any other country in the region. Persistent enhancement in petroleum development levy is unconstitutional.
Hike in the prices of petroleum products will lead to stir massive storm of inflation. It is requested to court to declare recent increase in the prices of petroleum products null and void.
It id pertinent to mention here government has raised the price of petrol by Rs 14.92 per liter. Following this hike, the new price of petrol has been fixed at Rs 414.78 per liter.
The price of high speed diesel has been increased by Rs 15 per liter . New price of high speed diesel now stands at Rs 414.58 per liter following the upsurge in prices of petroleum products.
