HEC education expo attracts students in Barishal City of Bangladesh

The Higher Education Commission (HEC) Pakistan continued the second series of Pakistan Higher Education Expos in Bangladesh under the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor with a successful and well-attended exhibition in Barishal, following the inaugural event in Dhaka.
The Expo featured participation from 20 leading Pakistani universities showcasing higher education opportunities, scholarship programmes, academic exchanges, and research collaboration avenues for Bangladeshi students and faculty members. The series will also be held in Rajshahi, Sylhet, Chittagong, and Rangpur in the coming days, said a press release received here on Tuesday.
Deputy High Commissioner of Pakistan in Bangladesh Mr. Muhammad Wasif attended the Expo as Chief Guest. In his remarks, he highlighted the brotherly relations between Pakistan and Bangladesh and stressed the importance of people-to-people connections and educational cooperation in strengthening bilateral ties.
The event was also attended by Deputy Commissioner Barishal Ms. Masooma Akhtar, Deputy High Commissioner of Police Barishal Mr. Abdul Hanan, Registrar University of Barishal, Director General Scholarships HEC Pakistan Ms. Aayesha Ikram, and Project Director HEC Mr. Jahanzeb Khan.
Earlier, Ms. Aayesha Ikram welcomed the participants and highlighted that faculty representatives from 20 Pakistani universities were present to guide Bangladeshi students regarding admissions, scholarships, and academic opportunities in Pakistan.
Mr. Jahanzeb Khan thanked the participants and the High Commission of Pakistan in Bangladesh for their support. He encouraged students to visit university stalls for detailed information regarding admissions and scholarships, adding that every student serves as an ambassador of his or her country.
Under the Pakistan-Bangladesh Knowledge Corridor initiative, the Government of Pakistan, through HEC, is offering 500 fully funded Allama Muhammad Iqbal Scholarships for Bangladeshi students at leading Pakistani universities. The first batch of 74 Bangladeshi students has already commenced studies in Pakistan in diverse academic disciplines, marking a significant milestone in bilateral educational cooperation between the two countries.
