District Police Officer Charsadda Muhammad Waqas Khan on Friday briefed the All Parties Committee of Tangi on the progress of the investigation into the murder of Sheikh al-Hadith Maulana Muhammad Idris Shaheed.
The meeting, held at the district police office, reviewed actions taken so far and the current status of the probe. Senior officers of the Counter Terrorism Department and district police attended, including SP CTD Ijaz Abazai, DSP Tangi Gulshad Khan, DSP Headquarters Anwar Khan, DSP CTD Jamshed Khan, and Inspector Hameed Khan.
Representing the All Parties Committee Tangi were President Mushtaq Khan Tangi, General Secretary Shafiq Khan, Patron-in-Chief Saleem Khan, Vice President Asad Ali, and other members.
DPO Waqas Khan briefed the participants on the steps taken in the case and updated them on the ongoing investigation. Special prayers were offered for the elevation of the deceased scholar’s ranks.
The DPO assured the committee that those involved in the killing would be arrested soon and brought to justice. He said the police were pursuing all available leads and would ensure due legal process.
The committee members expressed satisfaction with the progress of the investigation and pledged full cooperation with Charsadda police.
