Governor Khyber Pakhtunwa Faisal Karim Kundi on Saturday said that Bunyan-um-Marsoos symbolizes unity, discipline and national strength, adding that Pakistan currently needs national cohesion and solidarity more than ever.
Addressing the “Bunyan-um-Marsoos and Stability of Pakistan Conference” held at Governor House, the Governor said that the stability of Pakistan was linked not only with military strength but also with political and economic stability.
The conference was attended by religious scholars, political leaders and social figures from across the country.
Governor Kundi said hostile forces were trying to spread hatred and division through social media, however such conspiracies could be countered by strengthening the national narrative and promoting positive thinking among the youth.
He said providing better opportunities of education, employment and technology to the younger generation was the need of the hour.
The Governor said the people of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa had rendered unparalleled sacrifices in the fight against terrorism and Pakistan stood strong today because of the sacrifices of martyrs.
He paid tribute to the martyrs and said political stability, supremacy of the Constitution and national harmony were guarantees for the country’s progress.
He stressed that all differences must be set aside in the larger national interest and urged promotion of love, brotherhood and unity instead of hatred.
On the occasion, the Governor announced that the name of late Maulana Muhammad Idrees would be recommended for a civil award.
He further said every individual would have to play his role for a strong, peaceful and prosperous Pakistan.
Referring to regional developments, he said Pakistan had defeated India on both diplomatic and war fronts a year ago and today Pakistanis were respected across the world.
