The Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) continued to gain political ground in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Monday as several prominent political and social figures from Kohat formally joined the party at a ceremony held at the Chief Minister’s House.
Provincial Minister for Information and Public Relations Shafi Jan, speaking at the event, said the increasing number of people joining PTI reflected public trust in party founder Imran Khan and validated PTI’s position as the country’s largest political force.
Among those who joined were former District Nazim Malik Musawir Hussain, former Tehsil Nazim Mehnaz Ali, and Iftikhar Ali Shah, along with their families. Former Chairman Syed Waqar Shah, Rashid Sheikh, Zakat Chairman Naeem Khan, and former Nazim Shahryar Khalid were also present on the occasion.
Chief Minister Sohail Afridi and Minister Shafi Jan welcomed the new entrants by presenting them with party scarves.
Congratulating the new members, Jan described PTI as an ideological and people-centric party committed to public service, transparent governance, merit, the rule of law, and provincial development. He said voters had rejected traditional, interest-based politics.
Jan highlighted the KP government’s initiatives in health, education, communications, tourism, youth welfare, and social protection, stating that their impact was strengthening public confidence in PTI.
He added that the party’s politics centered on the common citizen and aimed to take all segments of society forward. Under Chief Minister Afridi’s leadership, he said, the provincial government would continue working to resolve public issues, strengthen institutions, and ensure sustainable development.
The minister reaffirmed PTI’s commitment to accelerating development and upholding the trust placed in the party by the people of the province.
