The All Pakistan Clerks Association (APCA), District Sujawal, staged a large protest demonstration at Civil Hospital Sujawal on Tuesday against escalating inflation and in anticipation of an inadequate salary increase in the upcoming federal budget.
The demonstration was led by APCA District Sujawal President Noor Muhammad Memon, General Secretary Sikandar Memon, Patron-in-Chief Haji Khamiso Khawaja, Fazil Soomro, President of the APCA Unit at Civil Hospital Sujawal, Deputy General Secretary Shiraz Memon, and Information Secretary Maqbool Theem. Leaders and members of the paramedical staff, including Manzoor Khawaja and Raza Khawaja, along with a large number of employees, also participated.
Addressing the protesters, the leaders said that unchecked inflation had made survival increasingly difficult for the public, particularly for the working class and government employees. They urged the government to ensure at least a reasonable and substantial salary increase for employees in the forthcoming budget, commensurate with the rising cost of living.
They warned that failure to meet the legitimate demands of employees would force the workforce into severe financial hardship.
The leaders cautioned the government that if salaries were not increased in line with inflation, APCA would expand the scope of its protests across the district and province.
