Residents of the Rustam area, namely Sharif Khan, Saed Hanan, and Abdul Awal, have alleged that DSP Rustam detained their brothers, Zahoor Hussain and Rehman Saed, from Malakand Chowk and subsequently made them disappear.
Addressing a press conference at the Mardan Press Club, they claimed that their brothers were present at Malakand Chowk in connection with the purchase of a motor car and were carrying Rs1 million in cash at the time of their alleged detention.
They said that they had approached the Peshawar High Court in pursuit of justice, a move they alleged had displeased DSP Rustam, Ashiq Hussain.
According to them, due to this grievance, their family members are being implicated in various untraced criminal cases and subjected to what they described as false and unnecessary FIRs. Sharif Khan, Saed Hanan, and Abdul Awal further alleged that their family has been continuously harassed and subjected to different forms of pressure.
They claimed that police stations, including Rustam Police Station and others, have refused to register their complaints and FIRs.
They said they had submitted multiple applications to the SP Investigation regarding the matter but had yet to receive any relief or justice. They appealed to the District Police Officer (DPO) Mardan and the DIG Mardan Region to take immediate notice of the situation, ensure the safe recovery of their brothers, and provide justice by addressing the alleged excesses against their family.
