Ban on tik tok case
PESHAWAR
Peshawar High Court (PHC) has issued written order to the respective authority to file reply in connection with application seeking ban on tik tok.
PHC while issuing short order on the petition seeking court’s orders for imposition of ban on tik tok has ordered to make Social Media Protection and Regulatory Authority (SMPRA) respondent in the case.
According to court’s orders the petitioner has filed supplementary application for making SMPRA respondent.
The petition said SMPRA has been established , therefore, the social media related matters fall in the jurisdiction of SMPRA.
It has been said in the order that keeping in view the stance of counsel for the petitioner supplementary plea has been accepted and SMPRA has been made respondent.
The court has ordered SMPRA to file its reply within two weeks.
Barrister Babar Shahzad Awan counsel for the petitioner took the plea before the court vulgar videos are uploaded on tik tok which are creating disorder in the society.
He requested either court should impose ban on tik tok or issue orders to concerned authorities to control the material available on this platform effectively.
The court while seeking reply from the respective respondents for further proceedings on this matter has adjourned the hearing till next date.
