A political alliance in Jamrud, Khyber District has announced a protest over what it said as substandard development projects and growing public concerns regarding their quality.
According to the alliance on Tuesday, the protest will be held at Bab-e-Khyber, Jamrud, to demand better quality in ongoing development work and resolution of public issues. The alliance’s leaders emphasized that the demonstration is not directed against any political party but is aimed at highlighting public concerns. They said residents have expressed reservations over the quality of ongoing development projects, alleged corruption and poor implementation.
The alliance has called on the Deputy Commissioner of Khyber to ensure effective monitoring of development schemes so that public funds are utilized transparently and efficiently. It also urged the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa to take immediate action to address the concerns.
The leaders warned that if the public’s grievances remain unresolved, the scope of the protest will be expanded. They stated that all constitutional and peaceful means would be used to safeguard the rights of the people.
The political alliance also appealed to political workers and the public not to give the protest a political color and instead support efforts aimed at resolving the area’s public issues.
