371 illegal Afghans deport at Torkham

As many as 371 unlawful Afghan citizens (male, female and children) were deported via the Torkham border, official sources said on Wednesday.
They said 371 Afghan nationals, resided illegally in various parts of the country were apprehended by the security agencies and after necessary formalities deported to Afghanistan at Torkham on Tuesday.
The 371 deportees comprised 17 from district Gujrat, 37 from Faisalabad, 28 from Rawalpindi, 22 from Peshawar (central jail) and 247 from Juma Khan Camp, Peshawar.
Similarly in district Khyber the police and other relevant authorities deported 02 illegal Afghanis from Bara, 09 from Ali Masjid, 09 from Jamrud.
As per the UNHCR data, since the day of their deportation millions of Afghan citizens have returned to their homeland from Pakistan and Iran.
It is to be mentioned here that the return process of Afghan citizens from Pakistan started in 19192 however organized repatriation under the Illegal Foreigners Repatriation Program (IFRP) launched on November01, 2023.
