ISLAMABAD: Supreme Court (SC) has maintained that surrendering oneself before the law ahead of filing appeal plea in SC is compulsory legal requirement and in the event of non fulfillment of this condition the appeal does not remain sustainable. According to issued written order the SC has rejected criminal miscellaneous appeal of Zainul Abedin alias Zain convicted under Punjab Food Authority Act and upheld registrar office objections. The court maintained no change has been made in this legal requirement in SC Rules -2025. Therefore it was settled in Adnan case that the principle is fully applicable to this case as well. The court maintained as the petitioner has not fulfilled the compulsory condition of surrendering , therefore, the objection raised by registrar office is as per law and criminal miscellaneous appeal is rejected being non- maintainable.
