The martial arts team from Landikotal delivered an outstanding performance by securing first position at the All Pakistan Full Contact Karate Championship held in Mingora, Swat on Saturday.
The championship brought together teams from Peshawar, Islamabad, Lahore, Balochistan and the former Federally Administered Tribal Areas (Ex-FATA), providing a competitive platform for karate athletes from across the country.
A large number of sports lover, Karate players, local residents, officials and other spectators visited the day long tournament and enjoyed it.
Regional Sports Officer Swat Dr Hazrat Ullah khattak was chief guest who also praised the Landikotal Karate team for their outstanding performance.
The Landikotal team participated under the leadership of black Balt Hayat Nazir Shinwari, Branch Chief of International Kyokushin Karate Pakistan, while Ali Rehman Shinwari served as the team captain.
Players from Ex-FATA produced remarkable performances, with Tahseen Ullah, Ali Rehman, Abid Raza, Nigar Khan and Sudais winning positions in their respective weight categories. Other team members, including Hammad Nazir, Hasan Ali, Usman Yaman, Touseef and Rizwan, also competed with determination and represented the region with distinction.
The championship featured competitions in the 35kg, 45kg, 55kg, 65kg and open weight categories.
Speaking after the event, branch chief Hayat Nazir Shinwari and team captain Ali Rehman Shinwari congratulated the players on their achievement. They said the victory reflected the hard work, discipline and dedication of the athletes and would serve as an inspiration for young martial artists in District Khyber.
They expressed hope that the success would encourage greater support for martial arts in the region and provide more opportunities for talented athletes to compete at national and international levels.
