The Pakistan Mini Mazda Goods Transport Association (PMMGTA) has formally announced its affiliation with the Pakistan Milli Labour Federation (PMLF), providing transport workers and drivers with a broader platform to raise their concerns and seek protection of their rights.
The announcement was made at a press conference held in Johar Town, attended by Pakistan Markazi Muslim League (PMML) Deputy Secretary General Khalid Naik Gujjar, PMLF President Rana Shamshad, PMML Lahore General Secretary Hamid-ul-Hassan Gujjar, PMMGTA Chairman Haji Sher Ali, Mahboob Alam Sindhu and other labour leaders and representatives of the Mazda Union.
Addressing the press conference, Khalid Naik Gujjar said PMML fully supports the demands of the goods transport sector. He said transport workers play a vital role in keeping the country’s economy moving and their rights and welfare remain an important priority.
He said drivers, loaders and other workers associated with the transport sector face several economic and professional challenges. Their legitimate demands should be addressed through effective policies and institutional support.
PMLF President Rana Shamshad, Hamid-ul-Hassan Gujjar and other labour leaders said workers and employees were facing increasing difficulties due to the prevailing economic situation.
They said the federation would continue its efforts for the legitimate rights of transporters and workers, protection of their lives and livelihoods, and greater job security.
Haji Sher Ali and other office-bearers of the PMMGTA welcomed the affiliation with PMLF. They said the alliance would provide drivers and workers associated with the transport sector with a stronger and more organized platform to raise their issues.
The leaders expressed hope that the affiliation would strengthen coordination between transport workers and the labour movement and help secure their legitimate rights through collective and peaceful efforts.
