Residents of Satnar village in LA-31 Khawra constituency of Azad Jammu and Kashmir, along with Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) voters, have alleged that they are being politically victimised for voting for the PPP in the recent elections. PPP voter Jamal Ahmed appealed to the authorities, claiming that residents had been asked to cast their votes but were not told that they were expected to vote only for the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N). He alleged that PPP voters in Satnar village were subjected to violence for not voting for the PML-N and that a motorcycle was also allegedly taken from one of the residents.
The residents further alleged that their houses had come under firing and that access routes were being blocked. They appealed to the authorities and relevant institutions to ensure the protection of their lives and property and to stop what they described as political victimisation.
The PPP voters claimed that their polling station had been won by the PPP and that they were allegedly being targeted following the election result.
The affected residents called on senior authorities to take immediate notice of the allegations and order an impartial investigation into the incidents.
