PESHAWAR: Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz provincial leader Khalilur Rehman Khattak said the shifting of the oil-refinery a conspiracy is against the people of Karak.
He criticized the decision to shift the oil refinery project from Krapa in Karak to Khushal Garh in Kohat.
Khalilur Rehman said in a statement that the project of oil refinery was going to be established in Krapa initially and announced by Awami National Party led provincial government according to the feasibility report as it is closer to the areas that produce oil. However, a new decision was taken by the PTI led provincial government, according to which the oil refinery was shifted to Kohats boundary with Punjab.
He informed that provincial government presented a lame excuse of lack of water in the area, for shifting the setup which is unacceptable to people of Karak.
According to the PML-N provincial leader, Rs20 billion worth of oil has already been stolen by bureaucrats, police and other government officials. \\
Transferring the project to Khushal Garh is equal to giving chance to wrongdoers, he added.
They alleged that the KP government, some influential elements and bureaucrats were conspiring to build the oil refinery in Kohat.
He said I personally consult with oppositions and we have planned to stage sit-in against provincial government if the oil refinery project is shifted to other places instead of Krapa.
He alleged the PTI-led provincial government did not take the elders of the area into confidence before it decided to change the location of the oil refinery.
