The Ministry of Petroleum has appointed Zahid Mir as managing director Pakistan Refinery Limited without prior permission of Prime Minister Imran Khan, sources said on Tuesday. Zahid Mir is allegedly involved in billions of rupees corruption in the Ministry of Petroleum and faces corruption inquiries.
The alleged man will assume charge of the organization in August next month. It is pertinent to mention here that Zahid Mir has been served as managing director OGDCL and facing billions of rupees corruptions charges.
The sources regretted that the PTI government instead of eliminating corrupt officials from the department started promoting them. They said Prime Minister Khan, however, is aware about the development. Mir has been retired from the OGDCL after completing its job period. The NAB had summoned him in corruption charges. Mir takes millions of rupees monthly as salary, besides many other incentives are provided to him.
The sources said that Zahid Mir is associated with former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi’s qroup and looted billions of rupees from Oil and gas sectors in the past four years.
