Islamabad: Ameer Jamaat-e-Islami says we are entering 2017 with an ocean of corruption.
Talking to media outside Supreme Court here on Friday, he said majority of the political parties were in favour of commission headed by a judge of apex court to complete investigation into the Panama Papers case.
He further added that it looks that government is afraid of the end result in the case and the issue remained unresolved in 2016.
He said we were expecting an early decision on the Panamagate but it did not happen. Siraj said by announcing name of new chief justice too early, the government tried to give the message to the chief justice that he cannot hear the case.
He said “there is some thing wrong in the bottom. Had there been not any thing wrong in the bottom then government would not have announced appointment of new chief justice so early. Government had announced appointment of army chief two days before retirement of previous army chief and why it announced the new chief justice hurriedly, he questioned.
He said if the commission had been formed early, the 74 days of nation would have not been wasted. JI chief said his party will continue ant-graft efforts for elimination of the menace from the society.
