Army determined to defend honour, territorial integrity of motherland: COAS

Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa on Thursday said that Pakistan Army is fully configured, prepared and determined to defend honour, dignity and territorial integrity of motherland at all cost.
In a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Corps Commanders’ Conference was presided by COAS General Qamar Javed Bajwa held at GHQ.
The forum reviewed geo strategic and national security environment and ongoing situation in Indian Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IOJ&K). Forum acknowledged effective highlighting of Kashmir dispute exposing Indian human rights violations in under siege IOJ&K during UNGA session.
The participants expressed appreciations for effectively dealing foreign backed efforts at destabilising Pakistan through various machinations.
Commanders reiterated resolve for befitting response to any Indian misadventure or aggression being conveyed through irresponsible media statements by Indian military commanders. During the meeting, the Gen Bajwa said: “Pakistan Army is fully configured, prepared and determined to defend honour, dignity and territorial integrity of motherland at all cost.”
“Kashmir is jugular vain of Pakistan and no compromise shall be made which denies right of self-determination to our brave Kashmiri brethren,” the COAS said.
Businessmen take up bad economy issues with army chief
Sequel to discussions and seminars on ‘Interplay of economy and security’, a concluding session of stake holders hosted by COAS was held at Army Auditorium. Govt economic team and businessmen of the country participated.
COAS apprised participants about improved internal security environment of the country which has enabled space for increased economic activity.
COAS said that accessibility and responsiveness of govt economic team to business community and displayed understanding between public and private institutions is good sign for intended positive trajectory in economic activity.
COAS said that national security is intimately linked to economy while prosperity is function of balance in security needs and economic growth.
COAS said that aim of various discussions and seminars was to bring stake holders at one platform to formulate recommendations for a synergistic way forward.
Govt economic team apprised business community about initiatives being introduced by the govt to facilitate businesses and the encouraging results of stabilisation efforts on national economy.
Businessmen shared their suggestions with the govt team to further improve environment for ease of doing businesses and assured that they will cooperate in implementation of govt reforms and also play their part by paying taxes and investing in a socially and economically responsible manner.
COAS thanked all participants for purposeful utilisation of the joint forum by stake holders for discussions and seminars leading to formulation of policy recommendations for subsequent processes and implementation.
