A transgender has been shot dead by his younger brother in District Swabi of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa. According to media reports the victim Saad Khan belonged to Swabi, later he went to Islamabad and Rawalpindi where he performed in various dance parties. Whereas his family was against this and his brother also threatened him for serious consequences.
SHO Farooq Khan said that the transgender victim’s another brother Mir Sultan has filed the FIR against Muhammad Hammad.
According to police the Inspector General of Khyber Pakhtunkhawa Police took the notice of the incident, directed the District police to arrest the suspect and provide suitable security to the other transgenders in Swabi.
District Police Officer Imran Shahid said that a special team have been formed under the supervision of SP Investigation Banaras Khan and he himself will monitor the investigation. The body of the deceased has been shifted to the Shah Mansoor’s Bacha Khan Medical Complex for postmortem.
Later the SSP Banaras Khan said in a press conference that the police while arresting Muhammad Hammad have also taken the weapon used in the murder into custody and apparently the incident was not of target killing.
