Afghan returning process expedites in transit center, Landi Kotal

Returning process of Afghan citizens has sped up as additional staff of verification has been deployed at the transit camp, Landi Kotal, officials said.
As per the official sources since 01 April, 2025 636696 ACC, POR holders beside Tazkira and without document Afghan citizens had returned back to their motherland via Torkham border.
The fresh flow of the illegally resided Afghan nationals to the border was stated to be an escalation of police crackdowns launched against them in different cities of the country.
According to Federal Intelligence Agency (FIA) official in Torkham said that earlier, deportee Afghanis, detained in various cities of the country were used to transported directly to NADRA center, Torkham where from they were sent back to Afghanistan. However after damaging the NADRA system in a recent Pak-Afghan arm battle, all Afghan citizens are brought to the holding center, Landi Kotal and then repatriated to their country after collecting necessary data from them.
The police official in the holding camp said that a token to enter the transit camp was issued to every Afghan individual that was followed by the process of the verification and registration.
After being cleared in the transit center, the Afghan citizens were dispatched to the zero point in coaches to cross the border to Afghanistan.
All essential arrangements including deploying additional crew of custom and immigration had been made in the center to facilitate the repatriation of Afghan nationals, police said. He maintained that the provincial government on the special directives of the Chief Minister, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, established 70 tents to sheltered outgoing Afghan families in the rainy weather.
Rescue 1122 staff had been stationed in the holding center to tackle any emergency situation, rescue 1122 official.
Meanwhile, the local political and social figures organized sites for them to supply them food and medicines. Some of the residents of Landi Kotal temporarily accommodated the going back Afghan families in their houses to protect them from the torrential rain and rough weather, locals said.
