Supreme Court (SC) has remarked Anti Narcotics Force (ANF) provides facilities to the accused for their acquittal from the courts.
The court further remarked enemy is ruining the young generation in educational institutions by making them addicts to drugs. More than 60 percent funding is provided to the terrorists from the income of drugs. ANF has taken what action through its larger network on this matter. Civilians having vast experience in investigation should be appointed in ANF. Are the civilians not honest?
A 3-member bench of SC headed by Justice Dost Muhammad Khan and comprising Justice Qazi Faez Isa and Justice Sardar Tariq Masood took up the case for hearing on Friday.
The court acquitted one Waqar Azam accused in narcotics smuggling case for want of evidence.
During the course of hearing of the case the court expressed resentment over poor performance of the ANF.
Justice Dost Muhammad Khan remarked the enemy is ruining the young generation in educational institutions across the country by making them drug addicts. Over 60 percent funding is provided to terrorists through the income from drugs. What action has been taken by ANF through its largest network on this matter. ANF has not even set up any laboratory for testing drugs so far. ANF took action against sale of drugs in educational institutions after such reports made way to media. As to why the journalist who has filed report in media about sale of drugs in educational institutions be not made DG ANF.
Justice Qazi Faez Isa remarked ANF provides facility to the accused so that courts could acquit them. On the acquittal of the accused DG ANF would say that court acquitted him. As to why order should not be issued that DG ANF should appear in the court in every case. Maj General should come to court in drug related case.
The court after hearing the arguments of the lawyers acquitted the accused for want of evidence. The accused was arrested from Rawalpindi along with 3 kilogram charas on November 16, 2014.
