Bajur district administration launches sms access service system

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa minister for Mines and Mineral Dr Amjad Ali on Wednesday said the provincial government was keen to ensure good governance in the tribal districts.
He said this while speaking at the inauguration ceremony of “the district administration access service system” held in civil colony in Khar.
The Bajaur tribal district has launched an SMS access service in order to help the residents inform the officials about their problems and complaints through text massages.
The inauguration ceremony of the SMS access service system was attended by local lawmakers, Gul Dad Khan, Gul Zafar Khan and senior officials of the district administration and line departments including deputy commissioner Usman Mehsood.
A number of elders, political activists and notable were also present on the occasion.

On the occasion, the minister said in tribal districts there was lack of interaction between the residents and the administrative officials owing to poor governance system.
However, he said wrongdoings and irresponsible attitude of the officials in the tribal districts had been done away with after the Fata-KP merger.
He expressed surprise that how the people had spent their lives in such a cruel environment.
The minister said the people of the tribal districts were fortunate enough to be merged with Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, adding the tribal people would witness a significant improvement in their lives with the passage of time.
Highlighting the importance of the access service, the minister said the system was a step forward towards ensuring good governance in the tribal district.
Dr Ali said the people could easily inform the officials of the local administration about their problems and complaints. He said launching access service was part of the PTI’s manifesto to bring transparency and ensure good governance in the country.
Deputy commissioner Usman Mehsood briefed the minister about the importance and procedure of the district administration access service system.
He said that the system was aimed at providing facility to the residents to inform the officials not only their problems and issues, but also lodge complaints against the corrupt practices in any government departments.
Official told that any person of the district can easily access the local administration through both mobile text massage and whatsapp, saying the officials would be bound to contact the complaint immediately.
He expressed the hope that the system would not only help to address the problems of residents, but would also keep good relations between the officials of local administration and the local community and ensure good governance in the region as well.
Earlier, the provincial has visited a number of mines of different minerals in the area and asked the local people to adopt modern techniques for the minerals execution.
