Court extends judicial remand of Ahad

An accountability court in Lahore on Tuesday extended judicial remand of former director general of LDA, Ahad Cheema, till April 4. The court questioned the investigation officer regarding the status of the final report of LDA City project. The officer apprised the court that a final report has been prepared pertaining the LDA City which would be submitted in next hearing. A National Accountability Bureau official told the court that Cheema had sold many files of LDA City which worth millions besides permitting development partners for selling out plots.

Later, the court extended Cheema’s remanded and adjourned the hearing till April 4.

Cheema was arrested over charges of misusing his authority by awarding Ashiana Housing contract worth Rs14 billion to Lahore Casa Developers, that was ineligible for the contract.
